Hi, it's been awhile since Ive been in trouble. I now have medicade through the state of new jersey. I am getting treatment for my RA. on February 26th my husband Ed was not feeling well so he went to the doctor. The doctor checked him and found his liver to be in larged. He put Ed in the hospital. After alot of testing the doctor told us that Ed had cancer in his colon, liver and stomach. It was terminal but chemo would buy us some time. Three days after the diagonis I was getting ready to go to the hospital when the docton called and said that Ed was having trouble breathing.When I arrived Ed was hooked to a respiratetor and in ICU. The doctors kept in comming in and telling me one system were shutting down and that death was emmenent. well, he had a blood clot and it went to his heart.He died 3/12/09. He left no insurance, we have no savings. As I was going through all his papers I learned that we owe 40,000.00 in federal back taxes and 9,000.00 in back state taxes. Intrest is growing as you read this. I am still disabled but I never applied for disability when Ed was alive because we were making our bills and I like to pay my way. I have had to apply food stamps and tanf. There is no way I can pay these taxes and fees and fines. If anyone has a idea what I can do I would be very grateful. I don't have the the money to pay a tax representation com. I am more scared then I have ever been in my life. I feel like I haven't had a chance to greive for my husband because I am working so hard to keep a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. Thank you for reading this. MOM MOM
